It really seems that tutu/tulle skirts are making a comeback. Although I`m not into these puffy-ish skirts and dresses because they can look quite cheap, but well.. it`s all the matter of styling. Think about Carrie Bradshaw. With the upcoming Cinderella movie I definitely started to want my own puffy tutu, I mean who wouldn´t like to be a princess, at least for one day. Long and midi tulle skirts were a big streetsyle hit during last year`s fashion week, so you can definitely wear them this summer too. Here`s a little selection of my favorite styles and inspiration.
Your picks are awesome. I loooooove tutu skirts. I own two but I think a girl can never have too many!

I'm all about the life of a tulle lover. I actually did a post today wearing tulle. My feeling is, tulle was on its way out as it's been popular for well over a year now. I do agree with you, tulle can look cheap. Many girls go for ones that have a lower price point. I assume the thought process is, it's not a piece they will wear often so why spend a lot of money. I think that's the wrong mindset. You get what you pay for. I've heard from some girls that the cheaper ones itch/scratch the legs. I purchased mine and spent a nice amount but noting expensive.
ReplyDeleteI suppose I am wrong. Never-the-less, tulle/tutu's aren't a trend to me. Considering a danced/studied ballet starting at the ago of 3yrs old, it just feels natural to wear. I studied classical ballet all the way thru to college. Dartmouth has an amazing Arts program. I loved it there. The program was so wonderful decided to major in Political Science and got a minor in Dance "classic ballet". As you can imagine, tulle for me is second nature. Great post.

I actually really like this trend but I do think it is important to steer clear from the typical short pink style to avoid looking too Dress-Up and rather look chic with a muted grey or black at a longer length.
